The dress code is unfair

Is the dress code really equal gender-wise? Some teachers chose to dress code girls but boys can wear the same thing and not get in trouble at all. From multiple girls’ perspectives, the dress code is viewed as girls covering up their body because it’s “distracting”, which can be damaging and make girls insecure about themselves. If this is what schools think is “distracting” then how come boys can show the exact same thing and it is perfectly fine? Teachers and Principals say shoulders, midriff and other parts of the female body are “sexual” and that we need to cover up. This is disgusting and needs to be stopped. There are many people around the world protesting and speaking up about the inequality and sexism in the school dress code system.
The school’s dress code is really biased and downgrading towards girls and at this point is normalized. When only girls get dress coded and guys can wear the exact same thing and not be considered distracting is upsetting and it is boosting their egos and making girls feel horrible for showing the slightest amount of skin. It seems like some teachers also play favorites and if a teacher does not like a student they will dress code them for anything even if it’s not in the actual school’s dress code.
Another thing is if we really want clothing “equality” that means only one thing, uniforms. Either way, people are going to complain that the dress code is not fair. The other end of this argument: uniforms. So, really there will always be someone complaining about the way the dress code works.
So my take on it is we ban one certain item that is controversial for people or we just have to do uniforms and I don’t want that. Most people can agree. Communication and clear bans on clothing items that are equally enforced could change help this whole thing.
