14-year-old found in Texas after online meeting

Do you enjoy being on your phone? Most people enjoy being online with their friends. People play games with unknown people and this can be a risk, however. For a fourteen-year-old girl from Slaughterville, Okla. this was endangerment for her well-being.

On April 12, 2021, Luxus Gray a fourteen-year-old was found in San Angelo, Texas with a 21-year-old man she met online. She met this man on a drawing game known as Pinturillo 2. She had gotten into a car with a stranger she had met online trusting him. He drove her six hours away from Slaughterville to Texas. Her sister Kinzie was not happy with this. She said that man should not get away with doing this.

This is important to learn this at our school because kids in 7th and 8th grade are 12-15 year old. Kids our age are more prone to believe things on the internet. The internet is filled with good and bad knowledge. If we are filled with bad knowledge that could lead to us meeting strangers in real life. The dangers of meeting people online in real life are very apparent.

“If people are going to have social media they should use it responsibly and not add people they don’t know,” said 7th-grader Brooklyn Carry.
