‘The only way out is down’

The first time I watched this movie, I was shocked. It’s very unpredictable.
The movie, As Above, So Below, is about an archaeologist named Scarlett Marlowe who has dedicated her life to finding one of the worlds greatest treasures underground, the Flamel’s Philosopher’s Stone. Apparently, the stone can grant eternal life, and can turn any metal into gold. She finds out that the stone is hidden underground in the Catacombs of Paris so she assembles a crew to guide and document her historic mission. I absolutely love found footage horror films, and this movie is definitely, by far, my favorite.
The actors’ performance in this movie is outstanding. When watching the movie, it felt as though I was experiencing the horrors with the characters, also, the movie was filmed in the actual Catacombs! The plot is also great as well. This movie has a deeper meaning than what meets the eye, and what meets the eye, is pretty terrifying. The plot is well paced, and one of the things that I love about the plot is how in-depth the movie gets into history and the meaning of different artifacts.
Made in 2014, the movie is a horror genre and you can watch it on Netflix. It is a found footage horror film, about the Parisian Catacombs, and it is also loosely based on the seven layers of hell. The characters do sometimes say curse words, but not a whole lot. It doesn’t have many jumpscares, but it is pretty scary.
As Above, So Below does include a few swear words, and includes blood and gore. I first watched this movie when I was about 8. Even if this movie isn’t kid friendly, it truly isn’t that bad. This movie, in my opinion, is a great horror movie. I love the characters, the plot, the history. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who loves horror. Five out of five stars!
