Interview with Mrs. Edgar

Mrs. Edgar was born in Oklahoma on May 19th and lived in piedmont. Mrs. Edgar decided to become a teacher in high school because she really liked her math teacher and wanted to be somebody like that someday. If Mrs. Edgar could give advice to herself her first year of teaching it would be not to make every lesson plan perfect. Mrs. Edgar started teaching in January 2018, The reason she wanted to become a teacher is that she loves kids and wants to help them better understand topics that they are struggling with. Mrs. Edgar would miss the kids the most after she is done teaching and retired. Mrs. Edgar Liked most of the school but mainly liked to see her friends. Mrs. Edgar is the proudest of her daughter that she had in November. The most important people in Mrs. Edgar’s life are her husband and her daughter. The teacher that Mrs. Edgar has really looked up to is her high school English teacher. Mrs. Edgar enjoyed teaching ever since she started and she does not plan to stop teaching for a while.

When and why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided in high school because of my math teacher.

How is teaching different from how you imagined it to be?

I imagined it to be a lot easier than it is.

How would you like your students to remember you?

Someone that they could look up to.

Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself in your first year of teaching?

Try not to make every lesson plan perfect.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

The math teacher that I had my senior year.

My daughter.

What would you miss the most when you were teaching?

The kids.

Did you enjoy school when you were a kid?

Most of the time.

What was your favorite thing about school?

Probably seeing friends every day.

Can you tell me about the important people in your life? 

My husband and my daughter.

Was there a teacher or teachers who had a particularly strong influence on your life?

My English teacher in high school.
