Interview with Mr. Allen


Mr. Allen is a middle school math teacher. He works at Yukon Middle School. He is a pretty normal person. He grew up in the OK and Kansas region. And has a pretty cool life. It sounded like his school days were fun. He is finishing up getting a master’s degree in teaching. He really enjoys teaching, at least school in general. He really enjoys kids. He has a formal clothing style. He likes to build good relationships with his students. And he likes to crack jokes every now and then.

What was your first day like as a teacher?

It was terrifying. I had no confidence. 

Did you enjoy school when you were a kid?

Most of the time. I stayed out of trouble.

When and why did you decide to become a teacher?

That’s always what I thought I should be doing.

What kind of student were you?

Very Quiet.

What does your future hold?

 I don’t know

What was your first impression of me, how did they change?

 I thought you were a good kid, well behaved. 

Where did you grow up?

 OKC and Kansas.

What was it like? 

It was pleasant.

When you were younger, how would your classmates remember you?

 I pretty quiet kid.

Looking back, what advice would you give to yourself in your first year of teaching?

Talk less, build deeper relationships.

Was there a teacher or teachers who had a particularly strong influence on your life? Tell me about them.

My physics teacher.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I didn’t know.

How would you describe yourself as a child? Were you happy?

 Yea I was happy, relative introvert.

Do you have any favorite stories from school?

 I was supposed to make a boat in physics and he bypassed.

What would you do for fun when you were a kid? 

 Hang out with friends, super NES, street fighter II.
